PPE & Workwear Care Guide

Proper care of your Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) ensures safety, durability, and performance. Follow the guidelines below for each product type.

 

Conti suits/workwear

  • Wash according to label instructions (usually cold or warm wash)
  • Avoid strong bleach unless specified
  • Turn garments inside out before washing
  • Air dry or tumble dry on low heat
  • Repair small tears immediately to prevent further damage
  • Store clean and dry

Fall Arrest Harness

  • Inspect before each use (webbing, stitching, buckles)
  • Clean with mild soap and warm water
  • Do NOT use harsh chemicals or solvents
  • Air dry naturally (never use heat sources)
  • Store in a dry, cool area away from sunlight
  • Remove from service if any damage, wear, or fall impact occurs

Safety Boots Care

Leather:

Clean with a damp cloth and apply polish or conditioner regularly to prevent cracking. Always air dry and keep away from direct heat sources.

Suede/Nubuck:

Use a suede brush or cleaner to remove dirt and maintain the finish. Avoid water, oils, and harsh chemicals as they can damage the material.

Rubber/PVC:

Wash with mild soap and water, especially after exposure to chemicals or dirt. Rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry away from direct sunlight.

General:

Inspect boots regularly for wear, damage, or sole separation. Replace immediately if compromised and store in a cool, dry place.


Eye Protection

  • Clean lenses with a microfiber cloth and mild soap solution
  • Avoid abrasive materials that may scratch lenses
  • Store in a protective case when not in use
  • Do not place face-down on rough surfaces
  • Replace if lenses become scratched or visibility is reduced

Safety Gloves

  • Inspect for cuts, tears, or wear before use
  • Clean according to material type (fabric, leather, rubber, etc.)
  • Allow to dry completely before reuse
  • Replace if damaged or contaminated

General PPE Guidelines 

  • Always inspect PPE before and after use
  • Do not use damaged or worn-out equipment
  • Store PPE in a clean, dry environment
  • Follow workplace safety regulations and manufacturer instructions
